Gov.UK  Buy a rod fishing licence: When you need a licence - GOV.UK

Canal & River Trust Rod licences and fishing permits | Fishing

.

Issued by the Environment Agency (EA), one rod licence covers up to two fishing rods.

You'll need a licence before you fish on any inland waters.

This licence, however, does not give you permission to fish anywhere.

You still need to get permission to fish from the owner of the fishing rights or the angling club that controls the fishing on that water. There is no free fishing on any of our own fisheries.

You can fish on stretches where fishing rights are not rented out to clubs, but you'll need to buy a Waterway Wanderers permit first.

Who needs to buy a rod licence?

Anyone aged 13 or over

Parents or guardians of anyone under 13 if they're fishing too

You can also get an adult or junior licence by calling the Environment Agency.

Belper and District Angling Club - Coarse Fishing in Derbyshire on Pond, Canal and River Derwent

An annual membership of Belper & District Angling Club allows the holder to fish all Club waters

Permits run from 1st January until 31st December each year.

Day tickets are also available and these allow anglers to fish most of our stretch of the River Derwent (with the exception of the stretch surrounding Wyver Lane Pond, which is members only).

Anglers fishing our waters on a day ticket must only fish between dawn & dusk.

The Derwent is subject to the river close season and therefore day tickets are only available to purchase between 16th June and 14th March inclusive.

Before fishing any BDAC waters, please read, and familiarise yourself with, all Club rules.

Belper & District Angling Club controls fishing on a range of 3 diverse venues in Derbyshire, offering anglers the choice of river fishingstillwater fishing and canal fishing.

Our oldest and most famous venue is a long stretch of double bank fishing on the middle River Derwent, stretching from Ambergate down to Milford. The Belper stretch of the Derwent is available to fish on day ticket, as well as being available to all members with a club book.

The club runs the fishing on Wyver Lane Pond in Belper. This pond is available exclusively to members. It fishes well all year and contains a mixture of species, including carp to over 20lb.

Another of the club’s venues is a mile-long stretch of the Erewash Canal close to Langley Mill. Fishing on the canal is available to members only and contains a mixture of species including bream, perch, carp and pike.
